This review of Khaolak Suthawan Resort of goes hand-in-hand with my review of Rawai Muay Thai. I stayed in this small hotel for close to seven months over the course of a year and a half. While it is called a resort, I would more consider it a boutique hotel. I say this not only because of the size but also the service. Chai and her husband are on call 24/7 to help you with whatever you need. One time this included driving me to the hospital in the nearest city when I broke my ankle. With an 8.5 rating on Booking.com and positive reviews on TripAdvisor, this mid-range hotel is a great value.
There are two styles of rooms:
1- Ground floor with semi-private cement patio; and
2- In the three-story building facing the pool.
The beach is located less than five minutes away. They have well-serviced push bikes and mopeds with helmets for rent. All rooms have air-conditioning and a refrigerator. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs at the pool. Breakfast is served every day from 7-11AM. When you book they will arrange transport from Phuket. They also have arrangements with local tour companies who provide deep sea fishing, diving, rainforest exploration, elephant rides and other excursions.
